VACCINATIONS

IMA has experience and expertise in providing vaccinations for Hepatitis B and for seasonal influenza.

Hepatitis B
Many employees are at risk of contracting Hepatitis B as a result of their work. Employers have a duty of care to protect the health of their employees.

To confer life immunity against Hepatitis B, a course of 3 injections over 6 months is necessary, followed by a blood test to assess the immune response. A "one-off" booster vaccination after 5 years is advised.

Seasonal Influenza
Seasonal influenza occurs during the winter months. Vaccinations against seasonal influenza are a well-recognised benefit for employees and help reduce absenteeism due to ill health. IMA can organise the supply and administration of influenza vaccine.

Pandemic Influenza
The risk of a worldwide outbreak of influenza (pandemic) is high. In March 2008, the British Government stated that pandemic influenza is the greatest risk to the country at the present time.
